KCC to Welcome Europe (Re)insurers at CATLAB® London Workshop
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Karen Clark & Company (KCC) is pleased to announce the KCC CATLAB® London Workshop, taking place on May 6. This one-day event marks KCC’s first CATLAB workshop held in Europe and brings together Europe-based insurers, reinsurers, and ILS investors for in-depth scientific discussions on the topics shaping the (re)insurance market.
The workshop will feature expert-led sessions on the frequency perils—wildfire, severe convective storm, and winter storm—exploring historical and projected loss trends, the evolving impacts of climate change, and advanced scientific approaches to modeling and pricing these risks.
Sessions will be led by KCC scientists Drs. Dan Ward and Dustin Grogan, who will share insights from their work developing advanced catastrophe models across multiple perils and regions.
A supplemental session will also explore Florida’s excess litigation environment, highlighting how recent legislative reforms have impacted both hurricane and severe convective storm claims.
“(Re)insurers are facing increasing challenges in managing losses across multiple frequency perils,” said Dr. Milan Simic, KCC Global Strategy Advisor. “This workshop is an opportunity to connect with the broader European market and to demonstrate how advanced modeling approaches translate into insights for pricing, underwriting, and portfolio management.”
“CATLAB provides a forum for bringing scientists and industry practitioners together to examine the most important trends shaping catastrophe risk,” said Karen Clark, KCC CEO. “We are pleased to bring this workshop to London and engage directly with the European market on the evolving risks associated with frequency perils.”
