Carter Arnett Attorneys Prevail in Federal Trial Defending Denver Health and Hospital Authority

Jury rejects $20 million claim alleging deliberate indifference caused patient’s death at Denver Detention Center

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A federal court jury has ruled in favor of the Denver Health and Hospital Authority and five medical professionals in a lawsuit stemming from the 2022 death of a man at a Denver detention center.

Jurors found that the defendants, who were represented by the law firm Carter Arnett PLLC, were not liable for the death of Leroy Taylor, 71, who died of cardiac arrest complicated by a variety of health conditions at the Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center on Feb. 9, 2022.

Plaintiffs sought $20 million in damages against the authority and the medical professionals who were accused of failing to provide Mr. Taylor with necessary medical care.
