G&W Electric Launches PowerVoice™ Research Community to Capture Trends Shaping the Future Grid

New research community invites industry leaders to contribute real-world perspectives and gain early visibility into how grid and infrastructure challenges are evolving

BOLINGBROOK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--G&W Electric, a global leader in innovative power grid solutions, today announced the launch of PowerVoice™, a new industry insight community designed to bring together utility and infrastructure professionals to share real-world perspectives shaping the future of the power sector.

PowerVoice is designed to provide a clear, data-driven view of where the industry is heading.

Utilities are being asked to plan years ahead while demand and grid conditions are shifting in real time, driven by the accelerating forces of decentralization, decarbonization, and digitalization. From distributed energy resources and electrification to the rapid expansion of data centers, these dynamics are reshaping how power is generated, delivered, and managed.

As one example, data centers accounted for approximately 4%-5% of U.S. electricity consumption in recent years, according to estimates from the U.S. Department of Energy and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, with demand projected to rise sharply in the coming decade. At the same time, visibility across the power ecosystem remains limited, leaving organizations with gaps in understanding how peers are navigating these changes.

PowerVoice Research Community Brings Industry Perspectives Together

PowerVoice addresses this gap through structured surveys within a curated community of experienced professionals across utilities, commercial, and industrial sectors. Drawing on G&W Electric’s experience across the power ecosystem, the program captures and synthesizes industry input to reflect how grid demands are evolving in response to decentralization, decarbonization, and digitalization.

G&W Electric is now inviting qualified professionals from utilities, data centers, and commercial & industrial organizations to express interest in joining the founding cohort of the PowerVoice community.

“The grid is being reshaped by the ‘3Ds’ – decentralization, decarbonization, and digitalization – and utilities are being asked to respond to these changes simultaneously,” said John Gounaris, Vice President of Global Marketing for G&W Electric. “While different parts of the ecosystem are deeply connected, they often operate with limited visibility into how others are navigating these challenges. PowerVoice is designed to bring those perspectives together and provide a clearer, more data-driven view of where the industry is heading.”

Participants Gain Visibility into Industry Trends

Members of the community will participate in recurring surveys and receive early access to aggregated findings on how the industry is navigating these shifts. Select insights will be shared publicly through periodic updates, reports tracking key trends, and thought leadership, contributing to broader industry understanding.

Professionals from utilities, data centers, and commercial & industrial organizations are invited to apply to join the founding cohort of the PowerVoice community. To learn more or submit an application, please visit https://tinyurl.com/GWPowerVoice
