Aptar Turns Beauty and Personal Care Products Upside Down with Inverted Lidless Dispensing Closures for Clean, Single‑Handed Dispensing

Features company’s patented SimpliSqueeze® valve for ready-to-dispense convenience, focused on reducing mess and drips

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AptarGroup, Inc. (NYSE:ATR), a global leader in drug delivery, dosing and protection technologies, and consumer product dispensing, today announced it has launched a new line of inverted lidless dispensing closures for the beauty and personal care markets.

“This technology reflects Aptar’s ongoing commitment to rethinking everyday packaging experiences and is designed to make daily routines easier for consumers around the world.”

Aptar’s inverted lidless closures help eliminate the need for separate lids while allowing for an inverted, ready-to-dispense packaging format that helps reduce unwanted messes, drips or product waste. Providing a premium feel and attractive aesthetics, the closures are designed for use with a variety of products that stand to benefit from easier, cleaner dispensing, including shampoos and conditioners, body washes, baby soaps, lotions and pet shampoos. Aptar’s inverted lidless technology is already being featured on a pet care shampoo line, and additional versions of the lidless inverted closures have been introduced in the home care and hair care markets.

Aptar’s inverted lidless technology features its patented SimpliSqueeze® flow control valve. Aptar’s SimpliSqueeze® valves are found on numerous inverted condiments lining the grocery store shelves today. The company helped to "turn ketchup upside down" and continues to expand into new markets and regions with this technology. By opening with a simple squeeze and reliably closing when that squeeze is released, the valve eliminates the need for contact with the closure itself and is designed to substantially reduce unintentional dispensing or foreign particle ingress. SimpliSqueeze® valves are designed to provide premium performance, yielding a steady dispensing stream and a clean cutoff that combines simplicity and hygiene-focused design.

Aptar’s inverted lidless technology is designed to provide both convenience and accessibility for consumers, allowing shampoos or conditioners to be dispensed easily, even with wet hands. The single-handed dispensing afforded by the inverted lidless closures is designed to enhance ease of use and accessibility for a broad range of consumers. For example, parents may be able to more easily dispense infant body wash while bathing a baby.

For beauty and personal care brands, Aptar’s inverted lidless family of closures addresses two important issues: ease of use and shelf appeal, helping brands to improve how their customers interact with a wide range of everyday products – all while offering a premium feel and a clean cut-off that can help maximize product use.

“By combining our patented SimpliSqueeze® valve technology with an inverted, lidless design, we’re helping beauty and personal care brands deliver cleaner, more intuitive and more accessible dispensing solutions,” said Hedi Tlili, President of Aptar Closures. “This technology reflects Aptar’s ongoing commitment to rethinking everyday packaging experiences and is designed to make daily routines easier for consumers around the world.”
