For more than a decade, the Workplace Possibilities program has been central to The Standard’s approach to helping employees stay at work or return to work sooner when a health condition or disability affects job performance. Through a proactive whole‑person model, dedicated clinical experts work with employees and employers to identify barriers, recommend accommodations and coordinate solutions that support recovery, productivity and engagement.

“The modernized and immersive environment of the Workplace Possibilities Experience builds on years of expertise,” said Nathan Whiteley, vice president of Absence and Disability Services at The Standard. “It’s designed to help employers better understand the realities employees face and how the right accommodations can remove barriers and make a meaningful difference in their lives.”

The Workplace Possibilities Experience goes beyond traditional support for people with disabilities by focusing on early intervention and personalized care. Consultants collaborate with employees, human resources teams and medical providers to develop customized plans that may include workplace assessments, ergonomic recommendations, adaptive equipment, behavioral health support and coordination with other benefits.

The Workplace Possibilities Experience interactive center is in The Standard Plaza building in downtown Portland, offering interactive demonstrations of adaptive equipment, assistive technology and workplace solutions organized around common disability and health scenarios. Through facilitated and self-guided tours, visitors can explore practical strategies for supporting employees and learn how inclusive workplaces help support productivity and engagement.

With the expanded Workplace Possibilities Experience in Portland, The Standard is reinforcing its leadership in workplace benefits and commitment to helping employers create workplaces where all employees can perform their best.
