Dallas Real Estate Attorney Lynnsee Starr Joins Shackelford, McKinley & Norton

Tax attorney David Corkern rejoins firm in Houston

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Real estate transactions attorney Lynnsee Starr has joined Shackelford, McKinley & Norton, LLP as a partner in the Dallas office of the full-service transactional and litigation firm. Also rejoining the firm is veteran tax attorney David Corkern.

Ms. Starr’s practice entails all aspects of commercial real estate, representing developers, property owners, investors and businesses in sophisticated transactions. She provides comprehensive counsel on matters involving industrial, multi-family, self-storage, office, retail, mixed-use and hospitality properties, guiding clients through each phase of the acquisition, disposition, financing and entitlement processes.

She also represents landlords and tenants involved in retail, office, industrial and mixed-use developments in the negotiation and drafting of complex commercial lease agreements.

Licensed in both Texas and Arizona, Ms. Starr is a member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, Ladies in Commercial Real Estate and the Real Estate Council’s Young Guns. Her work has earned recognition from Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, she earned undergraduate degrees in finance and business sustainability from Arizona State University.

Formerly of counsel in the Dallas office, Mr. Corkern rejoins the firm as a partner in the Houston office. He represents clients involved in tax controversy issues and corporate governance issues, including estate and probate matters. He is a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow and a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.

He is a member of the Texas, Louisiana and District of Columbia bar associations and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Texas and Louisiana, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
