The recognition highlights their decades-long track record of disciplined, value-oriented investing and their role in building Causeway into a $69 billion global asset manager (as of 3/31/26). It also builds on prior recognition, including their 2017 Morningstar Award for Investing Excellence – International Stock for the Morningstar Gold-rated Causeway International Value Fund (CIVIX).
Ketterer and Hartford have served as portfolio managers of the Causeway International Value Fund since its inception in 2001 and the Gold-rated Causeway Global Value Fund (CGVIX) since 2008. They were early pioneers in integrating fundamental and quantitative research while maintaining a disciplined, contrarian value philosophy with concentrated portfolios and meaningful differentiation from benchmarks.
“We are honored to receive this recognition from Morningstar, which reflects the dedication of the entire Causeway investment team and our long-standing commitment to disciplined, research-driven investing,” said Ketterer. “As Causeway enters its 25th year, our focus remains on rigorous process, prudent stewardship, and delivering strong long-term outcomes for our clients.”
“Since founding Causeway, our focus has been on delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns for clients across full market cycles,” added Hartford. “This recognition reflects the value of remaining disciplined and differentiated over time.”
The Morningstar Awards for Investing Excellence recognize portfolio managers and asset-management firms that demonstrate excellent investment skill, the courage to differ from the consensus to benefit investors, and an alignment of interests with the strategies’ investors.
