Leaders Convene in NYC at ‘National Conference on Rent Control and Tenant Rights’

Group to discuss Expanding Rent Control/Stabilization and Stopping Corporate Landlord Influence

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New York marks the fourth city in a series of meetings and public events by the national coalition to advance rent control/stabilization and tenant rights. Organizational leaders from New York, Minnesota, California, Illinois, Massachusetts; Texas and Washington DC will convene in Harlem to strategize on expanding and preserving rent stabilized housing for low-income communities. Previous convenings were held in DC, Dallas, and Los Angeles.

Who:	Stakeholders, tenant organizations, renters and elected officials from across the United States will convene in New York City to discuss strategies to advance rent control /stabilization nationwide; stop the influence of corporate landlords; delineate opportunities locally and nationally to promote rent stabilization; reverse statewide bans and partial bans on rent control; winning and defending rent control; empowering tenants and connecting homelessness, HUD subsidized tenant campaigns with the rent control movement.
