Kinsman brings extensive experience in traffic safety and public policy, with leadership roles at AAA Northeast, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and within Massachusetts state government. He joins NETS as the organization continues to expand its impact across a global network of employers committed to advancing road safety.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Kinsman will work with the NETS Board of Directors to shape strategy, strengthen programs, and advance partnerships that support NETS’ mission to prevent traffic crashes both on and off the job.

“Art brings a unique combination of strategic vision, policy expertise, and a deep understanding of the road safety landscape,” said Tom Karnowski, Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety at USIC and NETS Board Chair. “His ability to connect public and private sector efforts, coupled with a proven track record of driving meaningful change, makes him the right leader to help guide NETS into its next chapter.”

Kinsman most recently supported public-private partnerships through Travelers’ “Community Voices for Road Safety” Program. During his nearly two decades with AAA Northeast, he created the award-winning LIFE anti-DUI program and led efforts to modernize impaired driving, occupant protection, and teen driver laws in Massachusetts. As NHTSA Regional Administrator for New England, he oversaw major highway safety programs and was recognized with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Innovation & Creativity Award.

“I’m honored to join NETS at an important moment for the organization,” said Kinsman. “Employers have a major role to play in preventing crashes, protecting their people, and strengthening road safety culture. I look forward to working with the Board and members to build on that mission and deliver measurable impact.”

The Chief Strategy Officer role reflects NETS’ commitment to innovation and long-term impact, with a focus on enhancing member value and positioning the organization for continued growth.
