Edgecore Wi-Fi Unveils EAP115, Advancing Scalable Connectivity with Wi-Fi 7

Delivering Cost-Effective, Enterprise-Grade In-Room Connectivity with Integrated IoT Capabilities

HSINCHU, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Edgecore Networks, a leader in innovative network solutions for enterprises, data centers, and telecommunication service providers, is thrilled to announce the launch of the EAP115, a Wi-Fi 7 dual-band wall-plate access point designed to deliver reliable, high-performance, and cost-effective connectivity for in-room deployments.

“Modern in-room connectivity is no longer just about Wi-Fi—it’s about enabling a connected experience across users and devices,” said Tengtai Hsu, Vice President of Edgecore Networks.

Built for environments such as multi-dwelling units (MDUs), hospitality, dormitories, and shared office spaces, the EAP115 is engineered to meet the growing demand for scalable, per-room connectivity while enabling seamless integration of IoT services.

Optimized for Modern In-Room Deployments

As network demands continue to increase across residential and commercial environments, operators and service providers require solutions that balance performance, cost efficiency, and deployment flexibility.

The EAP115 addresses this need with a compact wall-plate design and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 7 performance, making it ideal for high-density, room-based deployments where consistent user experience and simplified installation are critical.

Wi-Fi 7 Performance Designed for Real-World Deployments

The EAP115 supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) dual-band operation across 2.4GHz and 5GHz, featuring 2×2:2 uplink and downlink MU-MIMO and delivering aggregated data rates of up to 3.6 Gbps.

Rather than focusing solely on peak throughput, the EAP115 is engineered to provide stable, predictable performance at the room level, ensuring reliable connectivity for everyday applications such as streaming, video conferencing, and cloud services.

Converging Wi-Fi and IoT at the Access Layer

To meet the growing demand for IoT-enabled environments, the EAP115 integrates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Zigbee radios, allowing it to function as a multi-protocol IoT gateway.

This enables a unified infrastructure where Wi-Fi connectivity and IoT communication coexist within the same device—reducing deployment complexity and opening opportunities for value-added services such as smart room control, energy management, and asset tracking.

With support for Matter and future expansion toward Wi-Fi HaLow, the EAP115 is positioned to support evolving IoT ecosystems across residential and commercial environments.

Designed for Operational Efficiency and Flexible Deployment

The EAP115 features a compact wall-plate form factor (110 × 88 × 39.9 mm), designed to fit seamlessly into modern indoor environments. Its size aligns with common in-wall installation standards, allowing it to integrate cleanly into existing infrastructure without visual disruption.

Supporting wall-plate, wall, and ceiling mounting through a unified bracket system, the EAP115 offers deployment flexibility across a wide range of scenarios. Its concealed uplink cable design further enhances installation aesthetics, making it particularly suitable for decor-sensitive environments such as hotel rooms and residential units.

In addition, the EAP115 operates on standard 802.3af PoE, eliminating the need for higher power requirements. This allows deployments to leverage existing switching infrastructure, reducing upgrade costs and simplifying large-scale installations.

This thoughtful design simplifies deployment while maintaining adaptability across different installation requirements.

Open, Scalable Network Management

The EAP115 supports multiple management options, including Edgecore ecCLOUD and OpenWiFi CloudSDK-enabled controllers, enabling flexible deployment across different operational models.

This flexibility allows networks to scale from single-site installations to large, multi-site deployments, making it particularly suitable for managed service providers (MSPs) and ISPs seeking greater control, visibility, and operational efficiency.

With support for Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), remote monitoring, and centralized policy management, operators can streamline deployment and simplify ongoing network operations at scale.

“Modern in-room connectivity is no longer just about Wi-Fi—it’s about enabling a connected experience across users and devices,” said Tengtai Hsu, Vice President of Edgecore Networks. “With the EAP115, we are delivering a cost-effective Wi-Fi 7 solution that not only enhances user experience but also enables IoT integration at the edge, helping service providers build scalable and future-ready network infrastructures.”
