DOBS National Asbestos Trial Team Earns Super Lawyers Honors

Recognition underscores firm’s role in high-stakes asbestos litigation nationwide

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Five attorneys with Dean Omar Branham Shirley, LLP (DOBS), a nationally recognized trial firm with a track record of coast-to-coast verdicts on behalf of mesothelioma victims, have earned selection to the 2026 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.

Partners Trey Branham, Kathy Farinas and Cori Kapusta, along with attorney Darren McDowell, were selected to Super Lawyers, a distinction awarded to the top 5% of attorneys in each state. Attorney Anthony Bianco was named to the Rising Stars list, which recognizes top up-and-coming attorneys.

“What makes this firm successful is not any one lawyer. It’s a team that prepares every case for trial and is willing to go into court anywhere in the country,” said Mr. Branham.

All were recognized for excellence in plaintiff personal injury products proceedings. Mr. Branham and Mr. McDowell were honored in Texas. Ms. Farinas was recognized in Indiana, and Ms. Kapusta and Mr. Bianco were honored in Pennsylvania, reflecting the firm’s national platform and depth of trial talent.

DOBS trial teams continue to deliver high-stake results nationwide on behalf of mesothelioma victims and their families.

In the past year, DOBS attorneys have secured asbestos exposure-related verdicts of $1.5 billion in Baltimore, $966 million in Los Angeles, $65.5 million in Minnesota, $34.2 million in Oregon and $42.6 million in Boston, among others. The firm also obtained an additional $10 million in punitive damages for a Connecticut victim, successfully defended a $51 million California judgment on appeal and secured the appointment of a receiver over more than a dozen legacy asbestos companies in South Carolina.

Super Lawyers selects honorees using peer nominations and evaluations and staff research, evaluating candidates on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
