XiFin Partners with Premier Radiology Data Intelligence Leaders Science and Medicine Group and AuntMinnie to Launch First-of-Its-Kind Radiology Research Examining Industry Challenges in 2026 and Beyond

Study to examine drivers of radiology revenue leakage and profitability; attendees can take the survey at the XiFin booth at RBMA 2026 PaRADigm April 12-15, where XiFin will also showcase its Empower AI Agentic Appeals solution

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--XiFin, Inc., a leader in AI-driven revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions, today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind Radiology Perspectives Study in collaboration with Science and Medicine Group (SMG), a premier data intelligence company, and AuntMinnie, an industry-leading radiology media and insights platform. The research is designed to examine the operational, administrative, and financial challenges facing radiology groups by gathering perspectives across roles and organizational types. The research initiative will be introduced at RBMA 2026 PaRADigm on April 12, where XiFin will also demonstrate its Empower AI RCM ecosystem, including its latest agentic AI appeals solution. The study launches at a critical time, when radiology practices are navigating mounting pressures from coverage denials, prior authorizations, staffing shortages, and technology fragmentation, even as adoption of artificial intelligence introduces new layers of complexity.

“The Radiology Perspectives Study extends beyond data collection to advance how radiology organizations understand and address the pressures shaping their operations,” said Sandra Greefkes, VP of Product and Partner Marketing at XiFin.

Unlike traditional industry surveys that present a single, aggregated view, this XiFin, Science and Medicine Group, and AuntMinnie initiative is structured to capture how the same challenges are experienced differently across radiology organizations and to better understand the disconnects that drive real performance risk. By capturing perspectives across roles ranging from executive leadership to frontline staff, the research aims to pinpoint where assumptions diverge from day-to-day operational reality. Often invisible in traditional surveys, these types of gaps can contribute to margin loss, workflow breakdowns, and downstream patient impacts.

“The world of radiology is rapidly evolving, driven by reimbursement changes, staffing-related challenges including burnout and shortages, and ever-increasing imaging volumes," said Erik L. Ridley, Editor-in-Chief of AuntMinnie. "We're partnering with XiFin on this research project to identify common pain points to help radiology practices thrive in this high-pressure environment.”

The research will focus on several key areas, including:

  • Claims denials and related revenue leakage
  • Prior authorization and staff scheduling burdens
  • Staffing, burnout, and workflow productivity
  • Technology, AI, and interoperability
  • Patient financial experience

“The Radiology Perspectives Study extends beyond data collection to advance how radiology organizations understand and address the pressures shaping their operations,” said Sandra Greefkes, VP of Product and Partner Marketing at XiFin. “By bringing together perspectives that are not typically examined in parallel, the initiative is designed to identify misalignment between strategic priorities and operational execution—key drivers of inefficiency, administrative burden, and financial risk. In collaboration with Science and Medicine Group and AuntMinnie, this work establishes a foundation for insight‑driven action to help radiology practices operate with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.”

Following completion of data collection, insights from the research will be shared through Science and Medicine Group’s editorial channels, including print coverage and a live webcast. XiFin also plans to use the findings to inform future educational resources and industry frameworks focused on improving operational alignment and financial performance across radiology organizations.
