  • The inaugural ‘RET Ventures AI Accelerator’ cohort will focus on early-stage companies transforming the apartment and single family rental marketing and leasing landscape with AI-native platforms benefiting from the rapid consumer adoption of AI agents
  • LeasingAI and brightplace become the first two participants of the cohort, both tackling the growing importance of generative chat agents to the consumer rental journey and changing search paradigms
  • RET Ventures to host an AI oriented startup showcase at this year’s AIM Conference

PARK CITY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RET Ventures, a venture capital firm shaping the future of the real estate industry through close partnership with entrepreneurs and leading real estate operators, today announced the launch of its inaugural ‘RET Ventures AI Accelerator Program.’ The new initiative supports early-stage startups building AI-enabled technologies, with an initial cohort focused on leasing and apartment marketing solutions. The program will advance technologies that help multifamily owners improve visibility, discovery and lead generation as renters increasingly rely on generative AI tools and large language model (LLM)-driven platforms to find apartments and rental homes.

As apartment discovery moves beyond traditional SEO and listing sites, owners and operators are navigating a leasing environment shaped by AI-powered search and recommendation systems. RET’s AI Accelerator is built to support companies developing the infrastructure and tools needed for this transition, including technologies that structure property data, optimize digital presence and improve how assets are interpreted and surfaced by generative AI systems.

Through hands-on mentorship and access to critical tools, resources and RET Ventures’ network of strategic real estate partners, the AI Accelerator Program is designed to help early-stage companies strengthen their products and accelerate go-to-market readiness.

“Generative AI is already changing how renters search for apartments, with LLMs increasingly influencing where and how demand shows up," said Christopher Yip, Partner at RET Ventures. “Multifamily owners and operators are feeling this shift in real time and are looking for practical ways to adapt. Through this accelerator, we’re working directly with startup founders who are building solutions that help properties perform better in this new landscape, establishing first-mover leadership in an emerging but critical category of leasing innovation.”

LeasingAI and brightplace have been selected as the first two participants in the program, with additional AI-focused leasing and marketing startups expected to join the cohort on a rolling basis.

LeasingAI is a first-of-its-kind AI optimization tool designed to maximize a property’s visibility across leading generative AI platforms. Through its comprehensive, data-intensive platform, LeasingAI enables multifamily property owners and operators to significantly increase visibility, improve identifiability, and optimize for Generative Engine Optimization platforms. Compatible with major generative AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot, LeasingAI effectively reshapes the narrative of a property, boosting its visibility and helping drive occupancy within AI search.

“LeasingAI is redefining how properties compete and get discovered in an AI-driven search landscape. As renters increasingly turn to platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini and others, we’re already working with leading operators across the market and are excited to partner with RET and its network to further accelerate this shift, ensuring properties are visible, accurately represented and positioned to win in this new channel,” said Gal Bahir, Founder and CEO of LeasingAI.

Brightplace is building foundational data and discovery infrastructure for a rental ecosystem increasingly shaped by AI-mediated search. Based in New York City, the Company is built by a small team of AI engineers.

“Search is increasingly being replaced by AI-mediated discovery, and the multifamily industry has a real opportunity to get ahead of that shift,” said Brian Lichtenberger, Founder of brightplace. “RET's network puts us in direct partnership with the industry leaders who will shape how that transition unfolds.”

Accompanying the launch of its AI accelerator program, RET Ventures will be hosting the ‘AIM Startup Showcase’ at the Apartment Innovation and Marketing (AIM) Conference in Huntington Beach, California, on May 5, 2026. The showcase will feature early-stage technology companies, with a particular focus on AI-enabled leasing and marketing innovation.
