Forescout Achieves FedRAMP High Authorization, Delivering Breakthrough Cloud Visibility and Control for Mission-Critical Federal Environments

FedRAMP High ATO affirms Forescout’s ability to deliver Zero Trust enforcement and operational resilience across the federal government’s most complex environments

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Forescout Technologies, a global cybersecurity leader, today announced it has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) High Impact Level Authority to Operate (ATO) for its cloud services. Forescout is now listed as “Authorized” in the FedRAMP Marketplace, enabling eligible federal customers to deploy the authorized cloud service in high-impact environments and confirming it has met the FedRAMP High baseline requirements for use by U.S. federal agencies. Forescout has supported federal agencies for more than 20 years and is deployed across more than 70 federal entities.

Federal entities are tasked with executing cybersecurity policies across increasingly complex systems that span IT, OT, IoT and unmanaged assets. Without authoritative visibility and consistent enforcement mechanisms, entities struggle to fully understand what is operating across their networks, leading to application-specific exposure gaps and inconsistent Zero Trust policy enforcement. This lack of cohesion creates operational drag through fragmented and redundant tools, while also hindering agencies’ ability to optimize software investments and maintain approved security baselines. These complexities heighten the need for authoritative east-west visibility and policy enforcement that restricts lateral movement across hybrid environments.

In the absence of continuous visibility and control across hybrid environments, policy becomes aspirational rather than enforceable. FedRAMP High authorization validates that the Forescout 4D Platform™ cloud services have implemented the security controls and operational practices required for use in federal high-impact cloud deployments.

“Cyber strategy succeeds or fails on execution,” said Barry Mainz, CEO at Forescout. “Achieving FedRAMP High authorization demonstrates that Forescout delivers the visibility, control, and assurance required to translate cybersecurity policy into enforceable, measurable outcomes in the environments that matter most.”

Authoritative Asset Intelligence at High Impact

The Forescout 4D Platform provides continuous, agentless visibility and contextual intelligence across managed and unmanaged assets. With FedRAMP High authorization, agencies can deploy Forescout Cloud Services in environments where accountability, uptime, resilience and assurance are non-negotiable.

FedRAMP provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud services used by U.S. federal agencies, and the High Impact Level applies to systems processing the government’s most sensitive unclassified information. This milestone confirms that the service underwent an independent assessment against the FedRAMP High baseline and received an agency authorization for use at the High impact level.

“FedRAMP High authorization reflects the deep engineering and security rigor behind the Forescout 4D Platform,” said Paul Kao, Chief Product Officer at Forescout. “We built and developed this product not just to check a compliance box, but to provide the federal government with resilient, Zero Trust outcomes at scale.”

Forescout’s FedRAMP High authorization enables important operational outcomes for security, including:

  • Deterministic Zero Trust enforcement grounded in real-time device intelligence
  • Continuous east-west monitoring across complex federal networks
  • Protection of operational technology and critical systems without disruption
  • Closure of vulnerability and exposure gaps through precise control
  • Optimization of software investments and resource allocation, including identification of unused or redundant software, enforcement of approved software baselines, and reduction of waste across departments
  • Standardization of tooling and visibility, reducing operational drag caused by fragmented or redundant tools
  • Visibility into the presence of non-quantum-safe encryption, enabling federal teams to prioritize migration planning and readiness for evolving post-quantum mandates

Unlike network-centric vendors that restrict agencies to proprietary ecosystems, Forescout delivers vendor-neutral cybersecurity asset intelligence designed for heterogeneous federal environments. This flexibility enables faster time to value, broader ecosystem integration, and strategic freedom of choice.

A Foundation for the Next Phase of Federal Cybersecurity

“As agencies advance Zero Trust mandates, prepare for a post-quantum computing future, and adopt automation and AI responsibly, foundational visibility and control are prerequisites,” said Mike Walsh, President of Forescout Government Systems. “FedRAMP High ATO authorizes the Forescout cloud service for use in federal high-impact environments and demonstrates alignment with stringent security requirements. Achieving this milestone underscores our commitment as a long-standing operational partner to the federal government, trusted to operate at the intersection of cybersecurity policy, mission assurance and execution.”
