DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, Shows Zero Findings From An Independent Audit Report for the Tenth Consecutive Year, Agency Highlights Milestones in Annual Report

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas, announced today that the agency achieved its tenth year with zero audit findings. The audit was conducted by CohnReznick LLP, a third-party advisory, assurance, and tax firm. The comprehensive audit includes an evaluation of DHA’s financial statements, regulatory compliance, program reporting, cost allocations, internal controls for financial and program documentation and processes, and cash management.

DHA is the largest public housing authority in the state of Texas. Given the complexity of the agency’s operations, achieving a zero-finding audit report is a major accomplishment.

DHA is the largest public housing authority in the state of Texas. Given the complexity of the agency’s operations, achieving a zero-finding audit report is a major accomplishment. The scale of the agency’s operations covers:

  • Housing for 53,500 people each day
  • Management of 3,453 DHA-owned public and assisted housing units
  • Management of 16,251 Housing Choice Voucher households across seven counties, which provides housing to more than 40,000 people, and comprises 389 zip codes with 612 payment standards
  • An annual operating budget of over $419 million and assets valued at over $430 million

DHA’s financial report and key milestones achieved in 2024 are highlighted in its latest annual report. Highlights include:

  • Development of new affordable housing options, including The Sevens–a 475-unit mixed-income family development in North Dallas, and The Culbreath–a 360-unit senior housing community in the Bonton neighborhood
  • Improvements at the Major League Baseball Academy in West Dallas, including new turf, netting, scoreboards, fencing, and shade covers
  • The continued growth and expansion of DHA’s education nonprofit, The Opportunity Rising Foundation, which awarded 48 scholarships in 2024, bringing the total to 1,259 scholarships with an investment of $1.6 million since its inception
