Varicent Appoints Former Workday Co-President Doug Robinson to Board as It Redefines How Revenue Teams Operate At Scale

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Varicent today announced the appointment of Doug Robinson to its Board of Directors, adding one of enterprise software’s most seasoned global go-to-market leaders as the company enters its next phase of growth.

"Doug has helped build one of the most disciplined enterprise go-to-market organizations in the industry,” said Altshuller. “His perspective will be invaluable as we continue building the category."

Robinson joins Varicent following a 15-year career at Workday, where he helped scale the business from $25 million in annual revenue to $8.9 billion. As Co-President, he led global go-to-market efforts across industries and regions, guiding expansion into new markets while building one of the most disciplined enterprise sales engines in the industry. Across a 30-year career spanning ERP, HCM, SCM, and CRM, Robinson has built and operated large-scale enterprise revenue organizations through sustained growth.

His appointment comes as Varicent expands its AI-native platform for revenue orchestration, bringing planning, incentives, and performance together in one connected system.

“After stepping away from a full-time operating role, I was deliberate about where I wanted to invest my time,” said Robinson. “Three things mattered: product, investors, and people. Varicent has built a premium platform in its category. Today's revenue model is too critical to run on disconnected tools, and Varicent’s AI investments are raising the bar for how it’s managed. The company is backed by strong investment partners and led by a team that values how results are achieved. That combination made this decision straightforward.”

Marc Altshuller, CEO of Varicent, said Robinson’s experience scaling enterprise software at global scale will be critical as Varicent strengthens its position in Sales Performance Management.

“Doug has helped build one of the most disciplined enterprise go-to-market organizations in the industry,” said Altshuller. “As companies rethink how revenue is planned, measured, and operated, the systems behind those decisions need to evolve as well. We’re using AI to improve how quotas are set, how incentives are structured, and how performance is managed across complex organizations. Doug understands what it takes to scale those systems globally, and his perspective will be invaluable as we continue building the category.”

Varicent’s AI-native Sales Performance Management platform enables enterprises to align planning, incentives, and performance in a unified system. By replacing fragmented tools with one orchestrated revenue model, Varicent gives organizations clarity and control over how growth is designed and executed.
