MediaCo’s EstrellaTV Rewrites History with Record-Breaking Prime Time Growth, Leading All Broadcast Networks in 2025

NEW YORK,--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MediaCo Holding Inc. (Nasdaq: MDIA) today announced that its flagship Spanish-language network, EstrellaTV, has achieved its largest annual Year-over-Year (YoY) P18-49 prime time percentage growth in network history at +14% for 2025. This historic gain marks the first annual growth for any Spanish-language TV broadcast network in the last four years.

While the broader industry faced audience erosion, EstrellaTV’s 14% surge stood in stark contrast to its primary competitors: Telemundo fell -7%, Univision dropped -8%, and UniMás declined -17%.

“These historic numbers validate our strategic vision for MediaCo as a leader in the multicultural media space,” said Soo Kim, Managing Partner, and Chief Investment Officer of Standard General. “By outperforming every other broadcast network in terms of growth percentage, EstrellaTV is proving that high-quality, culturally relevant programming remains a massive draw for the P18-49 demographic. We are not just participating in the market; we are leading the evolution of Spanish-language media.”

Unstoppable Momentum into 2026

EstrellaTV is currently pacing for its fourth consecutive quarter of growth among the P18-49 demographic. The network’s upward trajectory accelerated significantly with the adoption of Nielsen’s Updated Big Data Plus Panel currency:

  • 4Q25: Surged +57% (Big Data Plus Panel).
  • 1Q26 (To-Date): Maintaining a powerhouse +54% increase.

“Our growth is a testament to the deep connection we have built with our audience,” said Albert Rodriguez, CEO and President of MediaCo. “To see EstrellaTV grow in 10 of the last 14 months while our most direct competitors face double-digit declines is a remarkable achievement. This +55% gain season-to-date confirms that our content is resonating more than ever, positioning us as the premier destination for both viewers and advertisers in the 2025/26 season.”

Dominating the 2025/26 Broadcast Season

Through the first 19 weeks of the current broadcast season, EstrellaTV has emerged as a rare outlier. Out of 146 viewing sources (including English and Spanish broadcast, cable, and digital), only 19 saw growth. Among the 4 growing broadcast networks, EstrellaTV leads the pack with a +55% gain:

  • EstrellaTV: +55%
  • FOX: +22%
  • Telemundo: +9%
  • NBC: +1%
  • ABC: -11%
  • Univision: -16%
  • CW: -28%
  • CBS: -31%
  • ION: -33%
  • UniMás: -35%
