Suffolk Expands AI Leadership Team to Accelerate Development and Scaling of Advanced AI Solutions That Add Value on Projects

Suffolk appoints Jay Ramadorai and Susana Sellés Valls to AI leadership team to drive the use of AI technology through operations and functions; early investment and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities allows builder to deliver projects with precision, excellence and efficiency

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the most innovative and successful builders in the country, has announced the appointment of Jay Ramadorai as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and Susana Sellés Valls as Director of Functional AI to help drive the adoption of AI technologies and solutions on Suffolk projects and offices throughout the country.

More than ten years ago, Suffolk Chairman and CEO John Fish had a vision of the “jobsite of the future” that would leverage the power of data and technology to increase efficiencies and performance on jobsites. Today, Suffolk is well positioned to leverage its innovation ecosystem, clean data and AI expertise to harness the power of AI to deliver real results for clients.

“Innovation has always been central to Suffolk’s success and to John Fish’s vision for this organization and the future of construction,” said Jit Kee Chin, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Suffolk. “Our early investments in AI, machine learning and robotics are delivering real results and accelerating schedules, reducing costs and improving jobsite safety. With a dedicated AI team and proven leaders like Jay and Susana, Suffolk is leading the industry in our implementation of AI solutions and redefining how America builds.”

Mr. Ramadorai is responsible for leading the effort to develop artificial intelligence tools for deployment in phases throughout the entire building lifecycle. He has successfully created AI and advanced machine learning models that improved workflow efficiency, reduced cost and created new revenue streams for leading organizations. Ms. Sellés Valls will collaborate closely with Mr. Ramadorai and Ms. Chin on the integration of AI across core business functions, including Finance, Marketing, Training and People and Culture. This effort will be critical as the company continues to grow its workforce, expand its footprint and scale its use of technology into diversified regions and sectors.

Over the past several months, Suffolk has hired experienced AI leadership and engineers from outside the construction industry to help drive the most sophisticated, proven AI technologies and capabilities throughout the organization. Suffolk now has the resources and infrastructure to connect data, technology and expertise that will allow project teams to make better decisions and manage safer projects delivered on schedule and on budget.
