OGC Strategically Expands Sector Expertise with Sports, Entertainment & Media Practice Launch
Bradford Auerbach to lead practice, as two new hires join his team
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Outside General Counsel LLP (“OGC”) has announced the launch of its new Sports, Entertainment & Media practice, expanding the firm’s core offerings and deepening its work in advising high-visibility and fast-moving industries. The launch is supported by the recent addition of two new partners, significantly expanding OGC’s ability to serve clients across sponsorships, media rights, talent, licensing, and brand-driven transactions. OGC is a fast-growing, nationally-recognized law firm that partners with businesses to deliver experienced, business-minded counsel that scales alongside their growth.
The practice is led by Bradford Auerbach, an OGC partner with more than three decades of experience advising major media companies, sports organizations and entertainment brands on complex, often first-of-their-kind deals that shape how content is created, distributed, and monetized. Auerbach has been with OGC for seven years and previously held senior legal and business roles at companies including Disney, Liberty Media, and Phillips Media.
“Sports, entertainment, and media businesses face constant pressure to innovate while protecting some of their most valuable assets, content, brand equity, and intellectual property,” said Bradford Auerbach, Partner and Practice Leader at OGC. “Our clients want advisers who understand those pressures from the inside, which is exactly the perspective our team offers. The launch of this practice reflects OGC’s commitment to delivering senior-level, business-minded counsel built for industries that never slow down.”
The launch of the practice is supported by OGC partner Jonathan Galst and the recent addition of two partners, Cara Frey and Richard Levy, all former in-house leaders with firsthand experience advising an impressive roster of sports, entertainment and media companies on complex commercial, transactional and advisory matters. Together the team offers a balanced approach that pairs deep legal expertise and risk management with a clear understanding of the commercial realities these organizations face.
Frey joins OGC after serving as General Counsel of the Professional Bowlers Association, where she spent more than a decade advising on league operations, sponsorships, media rights, and governance. Levy adds significant depth to the platform, bringing extensive experience guiding entertainment and media clients through complex commercial transactions.
“We’re thrilled to have Cara and Richard on board—they are playing a key role in building one of our firm’s most dynamic practice areas,” said Gregory Williamson, Managing Partner of OGC. “Their experience, coupled with Brad and Jonathan’s collective expertise, demonstrate our firm’s deliberate investment in building a solutions-oriented, sustainable practice. This group positions OGC as a go-to firm for clients who need sophisticated counsel without the inefficiencies of traditional law firm models.”
