Built in the Bay is designed to celebrate what the Bay Area does best: big flavors, bold culinary identities, and local operators who power a community-driven commerce engine. For SpotOn, it’s also personal—SpotOn was built in the Bay, and it continues to invest in independent restaurant growth and local business success by helping operators run profit-first, high-volume service with a frictionless guest experience.

Demand With Purpose: Powering Local Economies

Super Bowl weekend is one of the strongest high-intent moments of the year for restaurants and bars—when guests are actively deciding where to watch and what to order, and operators feel the game-day traffic surge across dine-in and off-premise. According to the Bay Area Host Committee, Super Bowl LX is estimated to bring between $360 million and $630 million to the regional economy, a meaningful lift for local small business and restaurants. Food demand follows the same pattern. In 2025, total consumers were estimated to hit a record $18.6B in spending with 80% spent on food and beverage—a clear indicator of Super Bowl weekend’s potential impact for bars and restaurants.

“Super Bowl weekend creates a demand spike where online ordering volume jumps, waitlists tighten, and payment volume spikes hit fast,” said Kevin Bryla, Chief Marketing Officer of SpotOn. “Built in the Bay is about putting the Bay Area’s independent restaurants at the center of the moment—revealing menus made for the Big Game, and showing what it looks like when great food is backed by operational efficiency, real-time reporting, and technology that keeps service moving.”

Local restaurants vs. national chains: a Main Street moment

Built in the Bay is a reminder that peak cultural moments don’t have to belong to national chains. When fans choose independent restaurants and local bars, they fuel small business resilience, strengthen Main Street businesses, and keep dollars circulating through local neighborhoods. That’s SpotOn’s commitment to local business: helping independent operators compete—and win—on the days that matter most. For those looking for ways to get a taste of the Built in the Bay, SpotOn has a “Where to Eat” guide on its website featuring Built in the Bay restaurants.

“Super Bowl weekend puts us in front of a new wave of guests, and Built in the Bay gives Palm House a high-visibility way to connect with them,” said Benson Wang, Owner of Palm House. “It’s not just about one weekend of sales. It’s about introducing more people to what we do, supporting independent restaurants, and turning that moment of discovery into long-term regulars.”

With Built in the Bay, SpotOn is supporting the Bay Area’s iconic independent restaurants in turning game-day guests into long-term loyalty. It’s SpotOn’s celebration of local flavor and a commitment to the Bay Area independent operators powering the community game-day economy, one order at a time.
