Skimmer Adds Hal Denbar to Board as Veteran Operator Backs Platform Built for the Future of Pool Service

Denbar’s two decades of operating and scaling experience strengthen Skimmer’s long-term product and industry strategy

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Skimmer today announced that Hal Denbar has joined the company as a board member and advisor, reinforcing Skimmer’s position as the operations platform serious pool service businesses rely on.

“Skimmer stood out because the platform is built for how pool businesses actually operate, the team understands how to support operators at scale, and the company is clearly investing for the long term."

Denbar brings more than 20 years of experience building and operating pool service organizations, beginning as a solo operator in 2006 and later helping scale Patriot Pool & Spa and National Pool Partners, which was recently acquired by Certus Pest as part of its expansion into multi-vertical home services.

His career has been shaped by direct exposure to what breaks when pool businesses grow beyond manual processes, disconnected tools, and software that was not designed for field-first operations.

“Hal has built a reputation as a high-integrity operator who understands this business at every level,” said Jack Nelson, CEO of Skimmer. “He’s operated in the field and at scale, and he understands what actually holds businesses back as they grow. His decision to join Skimmer is a strong signal that operators are demanding systems that can support complexity, accountability, and long-term growth.”

As a board member and advisor, Denbar will work closely with Skimmer’s leadership team to help guide product strategy and roadmap priorities as Skimmer continues to invest in the needs of growing and enterprise-scale pool service companies.

“I spent time evaluating the companies serving this industry and where my experience could have real impact,” said Denbar. “Skimmer stood out because the platform is built for how pool businesses actually operate, the team understands how to support operators at scale, and the company is clearly investing for the long term. That combination gives Skimmer a real opportunity to shape where this industry goes next.”

Denbar’s appointment reflects Skimmer’s continued focus on pairing product development with real operational insight from industry veterans who have built and scaled service businesses themselves.

“This industry is moving toward higher expectations and tighter execution,” Nelson added. “We’re building Skimmer for operators who want control, visibility, and durability in their businesses, and Hal’s involvement strengthens our ability to deliver on that.”
