Vice Admiral Sara Joyner, USN (Ret.) Joins Academy Securities’ Advisory Board and Geopolitical Intelligence Group

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Academy Securities, the nation’s first Post-9/11 veteran owned and operated investment bank, today announced the addition of Vice Admiral Sara Joyner to its Geopolitical Intelligence Group. The Academy GIG consists of 38 US and UK Admirals & Generals, former NASA Astronauts, and former CIA/FBI Leadership. Academy has been advising clients for over a decade and is the preeminent Advisory on geostrategic risk to the markets.

Vice Admiral Sara Joyner comes to Academy after serving more than 36 years in the United States Navy. Most recently, she served as Director, Force Structure, Resources and Assessment on the Joint Staff, where she advised senior defense officials including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Deputy Secretary of War on Joint Force capabilities and resource management. Earlier in her career, she served as the Chief of Legislative Affairs for the Navy and as the Director of the Navy’s Senate Legislative Liaison office where she developed legislative strategy and led efforts to secure support for critical efforts. Admiral Joyner started her naval career as Strike Fighter Naval Aviator accumulating over 3,700 flight hours and 750 arrested landings.

Admiral Joyner graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Oceanography and is a Strategic Studies Senior Fellow at the U.S. Naval War College. Her service has been recognized with awards including the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, and the Legion of Merit.
