MB2 Dental Reaches Significant Milestones in 2025, Surpassing 800 Practices and Launching Carabelli Club
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MB2 Dental, the nation's first and largest dental partnership organization (DPO), closed out 2025 with notable achievements in growth, innovation, and impactful initiatives. The year was a pivotal moment in the company's mission to uphold the integrity of private practice and empower dental professionals nationwide.
“Closing the year with more than 800 practices and launching Carabelli Club are incredible milestones for MB2," said Dr. Chris Steven Villanueva, founder and chief executive officer of MB2 Dental. “Every one of these practices chose a partnership over a buyout. They kept their names on the door, maintained full clinical autonomy, and gained the resources to grow without compromise. That shared commitment is what sets our community apart and drives momentum into the year ahead.”
MB2 Dental's partnership model continues to attract leading dental professionals because it delivers what matters most: time back to focus on patients, freedom to practice dentistry the way they want, and the life they imagined when they became dentists.
Expansion and Growth
- New practices: MB2 Dental continued its growth trajectory in 2025 through the addition of 60 new partner practices and four de novo locations. In parallel, the organization increased its emphasis on organic growth initiatives within its existing network, completing 30 partner-led expansions during the year. MB2 Dental also reached the 800-practice milestone in September, marked by the addition of The Smile Lodge, the company’s largest transaction to date.
- New State: The company expanded into Hawaii, increasing its presence to 45 states.
- Patient Reach: In 2025, MB2 Dental served our community through over 4.5 million patient visits, showing the expanding reach and influence of its partnership model.
- Team Growth: The MB2 Dental community now includes 12,500 team members, with 1,900 doctors and more than 600 central support team members.
Carabelli Club’s Arrival
Carabelli Club, launched in mid-2025, surpassed expectations in its first year. Powered by MB2 Dental, the national affiliate program helps private dental practice owners grow their businesses, streamline operations, and unlock cost savings. Key achievements include:
- Over 275 members joined from more than 40 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- More than 85 vendor partners offering group discounts and strategic support.
- An estimated $28,000-plus in annual savings per member through procurement benefits, continuing education access, and operational resources.
Investments in Infrastructure and Innovation
- Headquarters Expansion: The company opened the MAC (MB2 Athletic Center), a 16,000-square-foot facility that serves as a hub for continuing education, strategic planning, and partner collaboration. The campus footprint will expand by an additional 6,300 square feet in early 2026.
- Innovative Technology: MB2 Dental is selectively working with clinical and non-clinical AI vendors to build and integrate modern technology platforms and applications that create efficiencies for the corporate support team and allow partner practices to deliver better care while reducing administrative burden. The company expects this pace to accelerate throughout 2026.
Culture and Professional Development
MB2 Dental continued to strengthen its culture and invest in the growth of its teams through expanded leadership development, continuing education, and professional training opportunities.
- The company hosted its most successful Owner Retreat events to date, with the June Lake Tahoe gathering becoming the largest in MB2 history. These exclusive retreats fostered community and strategic alignment, highlighted by a memorable session in Frisco featuring former President George W. Bush, who shared leadership insights with MB2 partners.
- MB2 welcomed General Stanley McChrystal (Ret.), the former Commander of U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan and former leader of the Joint Special Operations Command, to the MAC for a powerful leadership session. His perspective on resilience, adaptability, and investing in people resonated deeply with MB2’s leadership and operations teams, reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing exceptional leaders at every level.
- The company’s quarterly CE Blitz program drew strong participation throughout the year, offering intensive continuing education followed by networking opportunities for MB2 partners, Carabelli Club members, and local dental professionals. Additionally, the company provided more than 3,000 CE credits throughout the year through a mix of in-person and virtual educational opportunities.
- Three MB2U sessions guided associate doctors through the transition to practice ownership with expert-led training and business tools.
- The summer internship program hosted students across multiple departments and academic backgrounds.
Philanthropic Impact and Recognition
- Nonprofit Foundation: The MB2 Family Foundation, the company's 501(c)(3) charitable organization, delivered meaningful support throughout 2025. The Family Foundation provided $42,000 in scholarships to 21 students and awarded more than $170,000 in grants to team members who faced financial hardships.
- Community Service: The eighth annual MB2 Dental Jamaica Mission Trip served more than 500 patients, with 17 MB2 doctors performing essential procedures, continuing the organization's commitment to expanding access to care. Additionally, MB2 provided more than $30,000 to Jamaica that supported hurricane relief efforts.
- Accolades: MB2 Dental was recognized on the 2025 Inc. Regionals: Southwest list of fastest-growing companies for a fourth time. Additionally, Dr. Villanueva ranked No. 10 on Incisal Edge magazine's "32 Most Influential People in Dentistry" list, moving up from No. 14 in 2024.
Looking Ahead
As MB2 Dental begins 2026, the organization remains focused on measured growth, continued innovation in practice support, and expanded opportunities for both partner doctors and the broader dental community through shared resources and benefits.
"Doctors don't want to be bought out," added Dr. Villanueva. "They want a partnership that preserves clinical autonomy and amplifies what they have built. As a dentist myself, I understand that and it's why we've grown to over 800 practices while others consolidate and compromise."
