FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Moss, a top-ranked national construction firm, today announced the appointment of Lanie Morgenstern as Executive Director of Business Development and Community Impact for the Moss School of Construction at Florida International University (FIU).

A respected leader in community and public relations, Morgenstern will lead efforts to strengthen the school’s ties with industry, expand its role in the community, and support programs that prepare the next generation of construction professionals. Her work will focus on workforce development, education partnerships, and outreach that advances the school’s mission.

In addition, Morgenstern lends her expertise to Moss’ broader efforts in stakeholder engagement and strategic outreach.
Before joining Moss, Morgenstern was Director of Corporate Community Impact at Spirit Airlines, where for more than eight years she led ESG strategies, grantmaking, and national fundraising for the Spirit Charitable Foundation. Under her leadership, the foundation awarded over $10 million to support children and families, service members, and environmental causes. She also enhanced Spirit’s global reputation by representing the airline at national forums such as the Social Innovation Summit, while driving employee engagement campaigns that boosted giving by more than 90%.
Morgenstern has held senior leadership roles with Carnival Cruise Line, Cruise Lines International Association, KPMG, and Florida Power & Light/NextEra Energy Resources, where she guided organizations through issues including environmental licensing, crisis management, executive positioning, and reputation strategy. She is also the co-founder of Lion’s Compass, a career management platform empowering employees and coaches worldwide.
A graduate of the University of Miami, Morgenstern holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication with concentrations in Journalism and Political Science. She serves on the Board of Governors for the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, the Board of Directors for Business for the Arts of Broward, and the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, contributing to the oversight and integrity of the legal profession in the state.
