Lawdragon Honors Chad Baruch for Appellate Excellence

Acclaimed appellate attorney named among nation’s top legal talent for 2026

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Johnston Tobey Baruch is pleased to announce that managing shareholder Chad Baruch has been selected for the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America list, securing a place for the fourth time in the nationally prominent legal guide. For 2026, Mr. Baruch was again singled out for excellence in appellate law.

“I’m humbled and honored to be included with the best in our profession,” said Mr. Baruch. “I greatly appreciate this recognition and the opportunity to advocate for our clients.”

Known for his extraordinary legal writing, Mr. Baruch is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and regularly appears before Texas appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court.

His work over the past year is indicative of his significant and far-reaching impact. He secured an appellate win in an El Paso civil case involving the interplay of Mexican and Texas preclusion law, clarifying how Texas courts treat judgments from Mexico. Another victory before the Fort Worth Court of Appeals reaffirmed that governments cannot rely automatically on courts to accept their claims of public use when seizing private property, a pivotal ruling in Texas eminent domain law.

Most recently, Mr. Baruch successfully argued a recent appeal on behalf of Dallas homeowners regarding insurance coverage, providing important guidance on post-verdict challenges raised by Texas insurers.

As Lawdragon’s flagship guide, 500 Leading Lawyers honors top attorneys nationwide across all practice areas, highlighting lawyers whose recent cases and other contributions represent the most important legal matters of the previous year.
