VHP Foundation Completes Its First Year of Operations, Including Inaugural Funding of Three Charities

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The VHP Foundation (“VHPF” or the “Foundation”), the internal philanthropic arm of Varsity Healthcare Partners, a leading lower middle market healthcare services private equity firm, announced today that it has completed its first year of operations, making funding commitments to three charitable organizations that meet VHPF’s 2025 funding priorities and broader mission: One More Wave, The Ferrari Kid, and Because I Said I Would.

Established in 2024, The VHP Foundation was created as a means of connecting VHP professionals from all levels of its organization in service to VHP’s communities, while in parallel supporting entrepreneurial, emerging non-profit organizations whose operations demonstrate a discrete, measurable impact on their target constituents.

This year’s grantees were selected following a year of intensive work and a comprehensive evaluation process that considered mission alignment, leadership strength, program scalability and the potential for measurable impact. The Foundation prioritized smaller, emerging charitable organizations where VHPF’s support could meaningfully deepen community outcomes. This year’s VHPF grantees are as follows:

One More Wave provides surf therapy and custom surf equipment to wounded or disabled veterans, leveraging community, creativity, and the healing power of the ocean to support mental and physical recovery.

The Ferrari Kid delivers unforgettable “celebrity-for-a-day” experiences to children battling cancer, chronic illnesses, or life-threatening conditions, providing joy and hope during challenging times.

Because I Said I Would is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering schools, prisons, and bereaved families with resiliency skills and mental health habits to face the adversities of life. The organization achieves this mission through programs in schools, prisons and at a 92-acre camp in central Ohio with families facing tragedies.

The Foundation is actively seeking requests for donation for its forthcoming 2026 season. Information on the Foundation is available at https://varsityhealthcarepartners.com/the-vhp-foundation/, and inquiries can be submitted via email to The-VHP-Foundation@varsityhealthcarepartners.com.
