BerryDunn’s 2025 Commercial Summit Focuses on the Rapidly Changing Business Landscape

Experts share real-world guidance on key topics affecting businesses today.

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BerryDunn, a full-service accounting, tax, and consulting firm, will host its annual Commercial Industry Summit, ELEVATE 2025, on December 11, 2025. Continuing a 20-year history, the half-day event will focus on critical issues shaping the business landscape, including key insights into the 2026 economic and market outlook.

Presenters at this year’s Commercial Industry Summit will address the implications of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), anticipated adjustments to federal and state tax structures, the impact of tariffs, and relevant Supreme Court rulings that may reshape compliance requirements. The event is highly valued by clients and open to all commercial businesses.

“Business leaders today are facing unprecedented cost, compliance, and operational challenges due to regulatory shifts,” says Sno L. Barry, a Principal in BerryDunn’s Commercial Practice Group specializing in tax compliance and consulting. “The Summit is part of our commitment to provide informed, forward-looking guidance and the insights needed to navigate change and thrive in the years ahead.”

What began as an in-person, New England-based forum has evolved into a national virtual event that attracts professionals from the construction, architecture/engineering (A/E), manufacturing, technology, and real estate industries. BerryDunn’s experts will share practical approaches to help businesses remain competitive and resilient in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.

  • This year’s event kicks off with a 2026 Economic Outlook presented by Erik Olson, who leads the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice. Erik will highlight the emerging trends and impacts from policy shifts and the rate environment.
  • BerryDunn Manager Jesse Marshik and Principal Jeffrey Ring will share insights on how businesses can stay ahead of sweeping federal and state tax changes, with a breakdown of the OBBBA and its potential impacts.
  • Manager Melissa Magoon will explore how private foundations can be used as a strategic tool for business philanthropy.
  • Principal Christopher Ellingwood will discuss AI governance and how to manage post-implementation risks and responsibilities.
  • BerryDunn Principal Ryan Warren and Manager Jocelyn Bednarski will conclude the Summit with a presentation on adapting to economic shifts and financial reporting impacts.

“Our goal is to equip summit attendees with tools to evaluate risk, pursue new opportunities, and strengthen their competitive position,” says Jodi Reynolds, a Principal in BerryDunn’s Commercial Practice Group focused on construction, architecture, and engineering audit services. “ELEVATE 2025 will provide business leaders with the clarity and foresight they need to succeed in an increasingly complex economic environment.”

BerryDunn’s Commercial Practice Group partners with manufacturing, construction, architecture/engineering (A/E), and other professional services, as well as technology, telecom, utilities, and real estate companies to provide insights that inform effective growth strategies, better assess and manage risk, and optimize return strategies to enhance profitability.
