New Program Supports Cotulla Education’s Vision to Become the Nation’s Leading Private Provider of Lineworker Training

NORFOLK, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Centura College’s Norfolk, Virginia campus is proud to announce the launch of its new Electrical Lineworker Certificate Program, scheduled to begin on January 20, 2026. This milestone represents a significant step forward for Cotulla Education, the parent company of Centura College, which operates 21 career-focused schools across the United States. Cotulla Education has set a bold goal of becoming the nation’s leading private provider of Electrical Lineworkers within the next 60 months, expanding workforce development opportunities and addressing the growing national demand for skilled utility professionals.

“The demand for highly trained electrical lineworkers continues to grow across the country, yet the number of schools offering such programs remains limited,” said Jason Pfaff, CEO of Cotulla Education. “Centura College is committed to equipping students with hands-on, industry-aligned skills that support safe, reliable, and efficient power delivery. This new program reflects our organization’s long-term strategy to strengthen America’s utility workforce and expand opportunities for students across the communities we serve.”

The 15-week Electrical Lineworker Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the power distribution industry through intensive, competency-based instruction in electrical systems, utility pole climbing, power line equipment, and real-world field operations. Delivered entirely in person at the Norfolk campus, the program includes immersive training, industry-recognized curriculum, and a schedule structured for student success. Tuition and fees for the program are $8,417, and graduates will receive career placement assistance upon completion.
