Pathward Teams Up with Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation to Launch Financial Fitness Program for Local Youth

Financial Fundamentals powered by Pathward will bring curriculum to middle school and high school students.

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pathward®, N.A. (“Pathward”), a national bank focused on financial access, is teaming up with the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation (Suns and Mercury) to launch a new program for area teens. Pathward, in partnership with the Suns and Mercury and the Arizona Council on Economic Education, will support a financial literacy pilot program to empower middle school and high school students with essential financial skills. Through the financial program – Financial Fundamentals powered by Pathward – Pathward will positively impact youth across Phoenix.

“One of the proven strategies to power financial inclusion is to apply financial education at an early age,” said Pathward President Anthony Sharett. “I’m excited to launch this partnership and financial literacy program to equip our youth here in Phoenix.”

Financial Fundamentals powered by Pathward will feature an immersive seminar designed to teach students financial fitness skills. The curriculum introduces students to budgeting and navigating real-life financial scenarios related to housing, food and transportation.

In addition to the financial literacy program and as part of its partnership with the Suns and Mercury, Pathward is proud to sponsor the Tickets4Kids program, committed to giving 2,000 free Suns and Mercury basketball game tickets to underserved and at-risk youth during the 2025-26 NBA season with an on-court presentation last month.
