Vintage Parts Welcomes George R. Mrkonic, Jr. to Its Board of Directors

BEAVER DAM, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vintage Parts, a supplier of replacement parts sourced from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to OEM-approved dealers, distributers and retail customers announced the appointment of George R. Mrkonic Jr., an accomplished executive and board leader in the retail and consumer sectors, to their Board of Directors.

Mr. Mrkonic brings more than three decades of executive leadership and governance experience across the retail, consumer and technology sectors to the team. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Herman’s Sporting Goods, Eyelab, and Kmart Specialty Retail Group as well as President and Vice Chairman of Borders Group, Inc. Earlier in his career he also held senior roles with W.R. Grace and Company.

In addition to his operating leadership, Mr. Mrkonic has built an extensive career in board positions. Since 1999, he has served on the board of twelve different public companies and five private companies. He currently serves on the Board of AutoZone, Inc., where he is the Chairman of the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee, and the Board of Ulta Beauty, Inc., where he is the Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. He previously served as a Director of Brinker International, Follett Corporation and Syntel, Inc., amongst other companies.

Mr. Mrkonic holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Economics from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
