Carenet Health Names Two Senior Executives to Advance Growth and Product Innovation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carenet Health, a tech-led healthcare services company, today announced the addition of two seasoned executives to its leadership team: Joy Powell as Executive General Manager of the Care Navigation and Medical Cost Management business and Dan Shur as Chief Product Officer.

These strategic additions reinforce Carenet's commitment to orchestrating measurable business and health outcomes with advanced technology and clinical expertise. Both leaders bring extensive experience in healthcare innovation, data-driven strategy, and scaling enterprise solutions.

“We are thrilled to welcome such accomplished leaders to the team,” said John Erwin, Carenet CEO. “Their proven ability to drive results aligns perfectly with our mission to transform the business of healthcare with our clients.”

Powell brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience spanning Fortune 50 companies and scaling venture-backed healthcare startups. She previously served as CEO and President of Springbuk, a health intelligence software company. She also held senior leadership positions at CareSync and Healthways, where she led commercial markets and senior solutions divisions. Her expertise in leveraging data analytics and technology to drive actionable insights positions her to advance Carenet's medical cost management capabilities.

“Healthcare stands at a critical juncture,” said Powell. “I'm energized to combine my passion for data, technology, and actionable insights with Carenet's clinical expertise to transform care management with a seasoned team of employees and client partners.”

Shur joins Carenet with more than 30 years of experience in product innovation and strategic growth across health plans, provider systems, and venture-backed health-tech companies. Most recently, he founded Aloha Value Advisory, providing strategy and execution guidance to early-stage healthcare companies. Previously, as Chief Product Officer at Quantum Health, he modernized the product portfolio and positioned the organization for enterprise-scale growth. His career includes executive roles at GuideWell's Venture Group, Cloudbreak Health, Progyny, EmblemHealth, and Cigna, where he drove innovation in value-based care, digital health, and population health management.

“I'm excited to join Carenet because of the exceptional foundation that's been built to create the care management solutions people and payers have been seeking,” said Shur. “The culture here is defined by a passion for serving members efficiently while continuously evolving. It's an inspiring environment to be part of!”

These appointments signal Carenet's continued investment in leadership capabilities that align with the company's strategic priorities: empowering healthcare clients to confidently implement AI to amplify human impact and supporting value-based care delivery at scale. As the industry faces mounting pressure to improve outcomes while reducing costs, Carenet is positioning itself to lead through advanced technology, insight-led orchestration, and global operational excellence.
