5th Edition of Sweet Pharma Day

LAVAL, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--We are pleased to announce that the 5th edition of Sweet Pharma Day will be held on April 22, 2026, at Sucrerie Bonaventure in Mirabel, Quebec.

This unique invitation-only event is dedicated to start-ups and biotechnology companies. It offers a privileged platform to showcase their innovations to leading figures in the biopharmaceutical industry, paving the way for potential collaborations and strategic partnerships.

If you would like to seize this opportunity and be one of the 16 promising Canadian biotechnology companies, the famous “Sweet 16,” submit your application today.

The “Sweet 16” company with the best presentation will receive a prize of $25,000, the runner-up will receive a prize of $15,000, and the third-place winner will receive a “Coup de Cœur” prize worth $10,000.

To be eligible for the 2026 “Sweet Sixteen” cohort, each applicant startup must:

To be eligible, companies must be Canadian and operate in the biotechnology sector, whether in therapeutics, diagnostics, biotools, or other related applications. They must demonstrate strong commercial potential, stand out for their innovation or promising project, and be at an early stage of development (pre-Series A). Candidates must also be open to collaborations with industrial partners and must not have previously won an award at a previous edition of Sweet BioPharma Day.

How to apply

The selected start-ups must meet certain conditions of participation. Each company will be represented by a single person, whose presence in person is mandatory and at the expense of the organization. The Sweet 16 will be required to prepare an 8-minute pitch, followed by a 3-minute Q&A session, and are strongly encouraged to actively participate in other sessions of the event to maximize interactions with partners and investors. To enrich the discussions, they are also invited to propose two or three questions to the audience, if necessary. Finally, all presentations must be given in English.

Applications must be submitted via this form no later than Sunday, February 28, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time). Participating pharmaceutical companies will select the 16 companies chosen to participate, which will be notified no later than March 20, 2026.

Sweet Pharma Day is an invitation-only Canadian event in the life sciences field. Its 5th edition is organized by BIOQuébec, CQDM, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Amorchem, and adMare BioInnovations. This event offers leaders of young biotechnology companies a unique opportunity to interact directly with international pharmaceutical companies and key venture capital firms to develop synergistic partnerships.
