Keysight Launches Automated Transmitter Compliance Test Solution for New UALink 1.0 Standard

New solution accelerates 200 Gb/s PAM4 transmitter testing, advancing high-speed validation for AI data center infrastructure

SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) announced the launch of the UALink 1.0 (Ultra Accelerator Link) transmitter test solution, a dedicated compliance test tool for UALink devices. The new test application enables high-speed validation within advanced computing and AI interconnect systems, automating critical electrical measurements to ensure signal integrity and standard conformance at 200 Gb/s link speeds.

UALink 1.0 technology was introduced in 2024 by the UALink Consortium; it is an open standard designed to meet the growing demands of data centers where bandwidth, scalability, and reliability are critical. As AI, cloud services, and smart devices become more widespread, traditional technologies that connect computers, like PCIe® and Ethernet, are struggling to keep up with the demands of these fast-growing systems. The UALink 1.0 standard represents an advancement in interconnect technology for AI data center infrastructure, enabling the fast deployment of scale-up and scale-out silicon for AI communications.

Keysight’s UALink 1.0 test solution streamlines transmitter compliance testing by introducing automated procedures. Tasks that typically take hours of manual work can now be completed in minutes with a Keysight UXR Real-Time Oscilloscope and the new UALink 1.0 transmitter application.

The Keysight Transmitter Compliance Test Solution for UALink 1.0 technology sets a new standard in data center interconnect testing, empowering engineers to receive automated test compliance results faster and provides the following benefits:

  • Performs complete critical 200 Gb/s PAM4 transmitter tests in minutes instead of hours.
  • Streamlines and speeds up high-speed transmitter validation for UALink devices.
  • Automates complex test procedures for UALink, backplane Ethernet, and cable Ethernet channels.

Dr. Joachim Peerlings, Vice President of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight Technologies, said: “The introduction of UALink marks a transformative leap in AI infrastructure and directly addresses the lack of an open, industry-standard, high-bandwidth low-latency interconnect for scaling AI accelerators within data centers. By providing tools for validating UALink transmitters, Keysight is helping the industry accelerate the introduction of products based on the open UALink standard.”

Keysight will demonstrate the UALink compliance test solution for the first time at the 2025 OCP Global Summit, October 13-16 in San Jose, Calif., booth # C1.

At the Summit, Keysight will also unveil an electrical 212 G receiver conformance test application (M8091DJCA). The 212 G receiver conformance application supports cable and backplane interfaces, which are foundational technologies of the UALink 200 Gb/s 1.0 standard and a key enabler for AI scale-up networking. The solution combines a Keysight M8050A 120 Gbd High-Performance BERT, a Keysight Infiniium UXR Real-Time Oscilloscope, and the M8091DJCA compliance application to deliver automated testing, advanced measurement coverage, and streamlined calibration for conformance and debug.
