AdvancedMD Rolls Out AI-Enhanced Product Features to Optimize Practice Workflows and Minimize Administrative Burdens

The AdvancedMD fall 2025 product release updates are designed to simplify day-to-day operations for private practices, while also improving billing accuracy

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AdvancedMD, a provider of cloud-based healthcare software for independent medical practices, today announced more than 20 product updates across its practice management, EHR, and patient engagement solutions. The latest product updates are focused on optimizing private practice workflows to help healthcare providers reclaim time spent on tedious and repetitive administrative burdens. This product release encompasses multiple AI enhancements, including the rollout of AI-assisted pre-visit summaries and auto-population of insurance details within patient charts using an image of the patient’s insurance card.

According to AdvancedMD CEO Amanda Sharp, “These product updates highlight how AdvancedMD is utilizing smart AI implementations across our product suite, helping to optimize daily operations for private practices. Our goal has always been focused on helping providers gain back valuable time to focus on patient care. One of our product team leaders said it best: our 2025 fall release is where innovation meets workflow.

A recent survey of 1,500 healthcare employees revealed that more than half are planning to change jobs in the next year, with many survey respondents citing burnout as a primary reason for their dissatisfaction. To better support the ambulatory care space—and help minimize burnout among users—AdvancedMD relies on feedback from customers when building out new product features and enhancements.

While the 2025 AdvancedMD fall product release involves multiple new features, as well as enhancements to existing solutions, the top highlights include:

Practice Management Enhancements

  • AdvancedMD Pay Refund: AdvancedMD Pay customers can now easily refund credit card payments to cardholders. The new refund button replaces the previous “void” process for greater convenience.
  • Patient and Responsible Party: The AdvancedMD demographics dashboard now includes a column to improve the organization of patient information, making data easier to scan and find. Also, AdvancedMD patient cards auto-save in the user’s preferred order.
  • Patient Contact Card: Clinicians can now view and edit patient contact card information within the patient demographic dashboard, reducing time spent navigating multiple screens. This update helps streamline care delivery by creating more efficient workflows, while also supporting compliance with privacy standards.

EHR

  • ePrescribing Pro Package: Newly added features to the ePrescribing Pro Package include: compound prescribing, drug and image imprint data, duplicate therapy alerts, a weight-based dosing calculator, and pharmacy location mapping supported by Google Maps. Available in both the AdvancedMD EHR and mobile platforms, these features are designed to enhance prescribing workflow and decision support.
  • AI-assisted Pre-visit Summaries: Using AI technology, the AdvancedMD EHR platform is now able to automatically create summaries of recent patient data—including labs, medications, and notes—to help clinicians prepare for appointments. Providers retain full discretion over clinical decisions.
  • EHR Launch for FHIR Smart Apps: By enabling clinicians to launch compatible apps from a patient chart, the FHIR Smart Apps update improves access to external tools and data.

Patient Engagement

  • AI-assisted Upload of Patient Insurance Card: This worklist feature allows practices to view insurance cards uploaded by patients through the patient portal, telehealth intake processes, online intake processes, or the online scheduling platform. Practices can also scan and import insurance card images directly to patient charts. Using the uploaded image, AdvancedMD AI-assisted technology automatically imports insurance details into a patient’s chart that can then be reviewed and saved by the healthcare provider.
  • Provider Patient Load and Availability: The AdvancedMD Scheduler now offers real-time visibility into provider availability and patient load percentages. With customizable settings for both schedule and patient load, practices can tailor the experience to match their unique workflows.

The 2025 fall product release will be rolled out to customers on a tiered basis, starting October 7. A complete list of the latest features and enhancements can be found at: AdvancedMD 2025 Fall Release.
