Niron Magnetics Supports Sartell Police Reserve Program

SARTELL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Niron Magnetics today announced a donation to the Sartell Police Reserve Program, a key element of the company’s continuous commitment to supporting the local community as it establishes its new 190,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the city.

The Police Reserve Program is a volunteer-based organization that provides valuable supplementary assistance to the Sartell Police Department during special events, parades, athletic events, and youth programs. Reserve officers help with traffic and crowd control, perform administrative tasks, and support routine police operations, freeing up patrol officers to focus on primary law enforcement duties.

"The Sartell Police Department was instrumental in ensuring the success of our groundbreaking ceremony," said Jonathan Rowntree, CEO of Niron Magnetics. “The exceptional professionalism they demonstrated resulted in a flawless event, and we witnessed firsthand the caliber of public safety services in this community. Supporting the Police Reserve Program is our way of investing in the key institutions of this community, and also saying thank you for not only this event, but for working tirelessly to make Sartell a great place to do business."

The donation comes as Niron Magnetics celebrates the groundbreaking of its state-of-the-art 1,500-ton-per-year rare-earth-free permanent magnet manufacturing facility on the former Verso Paper Mill site. The facility, which will be operational in early 2027, will create over 175 full-time jobs and position Sartell as a critical hub in America's effort to rebuild domestic supply chains for advanced manufacturing.

"We are grateful for Niron Magnetics' generous support of our Police Reserve Program," said Brandon Silgjord, chief of police for the City of Sartell. "This contribution will help us continue providing high-quality training and equipment for our volunteer reserve officers who dedicate their time to serving our community."

The Police Reserve Program is a non-funded, non-profit organization that relies on community support to provide training in various aspects of police work, including use of force, firearms, defensive tactics, and prisoner transport. Reserve officers receive no compensation for their service and volunteer their time to enhance public safety in Sartell.

Niron Magnetics' investment in Sartell reflects its broader goals to engage the community beyond job creation and economic development. The company has committed to being an active community partner, supporting local programs and initiatives that strengthen the city’s quality of life and its major civic institutions.
