OXIO and Comtrend Launch First MVNO Solution Built for Rural Service Providers

This new offering empowers rural service providers to defend their market territory, grow profitability and deepen customer loyalty—all without the high costs and operational complexity of working with traditional carrier partnerships.

NEW YORK & IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OXIO, a leading Telecom-as-a-Service (TaaS) platform, today announced a strategic partnership with Comtrend, a leader in broadband networking solutions, to launch a simplified purpose-built MVNO offering— unlocking an immediate opportunity for rural service providers to offer bundled broadband plans, expand their reach and protect their market position without costly infrastructure environments.

This joint offering enables Comtrend’s extensive network of rural service providers to offer affordable, flexible mobile connectivity to the communities they serve. By integrating OXIO’s fully managed MVNO platform, providers can resell curated mobile plans and build custom solutions tailored to their specific markets—delivering mobile services alongside broadband to create double-play connectivity that boosts customer loyalty, decreases churn and unlocks new revenue opportunities.

“Comtrend has spent decades shoulder-to-shoulder with rural providers—building trust, solving real-world challenges and showing up in communities that have been left behind by other vendors,” said Robb Robinson, SVP of Sales at OXIO. “Together, we’re delivering a flexible, affordable mobile solution built specifically for the needs of rural communities, so providers can serve their customers on their own terms, not through a generic, one-size-fits-all model.”

“Comtrend gives rural providers a simplified, flexible, mobile solution, making local wireless service a reality for communities that have long lacked options,” said John DiFrenna, Comtrend’s VP of Sales & Marketing. “Listening to our rural partners’ pain points and resolving unique challenges while providing white glove support is part of our DNA. This offering reduces churn, boosts subscriber stickiness, defends against national MNOs, adds a new revenue stream without major capex expenditure, and allows for bundling broadband with mobile.”

This partnership marks a new chapter in rural connectivity—delivering greater value and expanded opportunities for rural service providers, while redefining how mobile services are delivered to better serve the unique needs of these communities.
