E.SUN, National Taipei University, and Tadao Ando Collaborate to Design “E.SUN Sustainability Hall” to Drive a New Sustainable Future

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--E.SUN Bank donates to establish “E.SUN Sustainability Hall” at National Taipei University. The groundbreaking ceremony was held yesterday (Sep. 9th). The event was attended by Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao and world-renowned architect Tadao Ando, who shared his design philosophy. They were joined by E.SUN Founder Yung-jen Huang, Chairman Joseph Huang, former President of National Taipei University Chien-chia Lee and current President Daw-tung Lin, who all celebrated this important milestone.

Designed by Tadao Ando, the E.SUN Sustainability Hall will be a beacon of green architecture. The design uses natural materials like exposed concrete, creating a unique interplay of light and shadow while blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment of the campus's forest and lake. Mr. Ando shared that the hall’s core spirit is "revering nature and loving people for a sustainable future," intended to be a place where wisdom from around the world can converge to address the future of humanity and the Earth.

Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao highlighted the importance of cultivating talent and passing down knowledge for sustainable development. She expressed her hope that the hall would become a key base for nurturing future sustainable talents, bridging generations with knowledge and responsibility. She also emphasized the alignment between the government's green building initiatives and the private sector's actions, noting that the connection with the education sector is crucial for amplifying sustainability efforts.

National Taipei University has long championed talent cultivation and sustainable development. As a key partner of E.SUN, the university has been actively engaged in the sustainable transition. The university's leadership expressed strong support for the project, viewing the E.SUN Sustainability Hall as a symbol of their shared commitment to moving from mere advocacy to tangible action and implementation of ESG principles. The hall is expected to deepen collaboration and magnify Taiwan's sustainable impact.

E.SUN Chairman Joseph Huang stated that in facing the 2050 net-zero transition, E.SUN’s partnership with National Taipei University to build the Sustainability Hall is rooted in the goal of cultivating talent and strengthening the nation's competitiveness. The hall will serve as a vital hub for fostering innovative sustainable talent, combining the expertise of both E.SUN and the university to fulfill their commitment to a sustainable future.
