Sunbelt Modular Inc. Acquires Whitley Manufacturing

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sunbelt Modular, Inc. (“Sunbelt” or “SMB”), a leading producer of high-quality and sustainable modular building solutions, has announced its acquisition of Whitley Manufacturing (“WMI”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded by F.R. Bratton of Elkhart and later acquired by Williams Mobile Offices of Baltimore in 1970, Whitley Manufacturing was ultimately purchased by current CEO and owner Simon Dragan in 1993. WMI is a respected modular building manufacturer focused on delivering complex, innovative commercial structures across the United States. The company operates manufacturing facilities in South Whitley, IN; Rochester, IN; Marysville, WA; and Leola, PA. Its legacy of quality craftsmanship and superior customer service will continue under Sunbelt’s ownership. Led by Simon Dragan and President Drew Welborn, Whitley’s experienced and dedicated team remains committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and teamwork.

“We are thrilled to welcome Whitley Manufacturing to the Sunbelt Modular family of companies,” said Ron Procunier, Chief Executive Officer of SMB. “They have a long and well-earned reputation as a premier provider of modular building solutions and are a natural fit for our strategy of delivering high-quality, custom-built structures and white-glove service to our dealer network. The addition of Whitley strengthens our ability to leverage national scale to reduce construction costs, broaden our capabilities, and elevate quality — all with the singular focus of enhancing modular construction’s value proposition versus traditional site-built construction.”

“Building Whitley over the last three-plus decades has been a tremendous source of pride,” said Simon Dragan. “I’m deeply grateful to everyone in the Whitley family who’s been part of that journey. I’ve long admired Sunbelt as a like-minded competitor with a shared commitment to quality and customer service. Their investment in our people and operations makes them the ideal partner for Whitley’s next chapter. I’m excited to stay on as an investor in the combined business and continue supporting its growth and success.”

Sunbelt Modular is a portfolio company of Littlejohn & Co., LLC. The acquisition of Whitley represents SMB’s twelfth transaction since the platform’s inception and its second under Littlejohn’s ownership. With this addition, SMB now operates 15 manufacturing facilities nationwide.
