KCC Launches High Velocity (HV) Models

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Karen Clark & Company (KCC) is pleased to launch its suite of high velocity (HV) models. These streamlined models, currently available for hurricane and severe convective storm (SCS), are designed for faster loss analysis and greater efficiency, while maintaining consistency with KCC’s established, accurate catastrophe models.

Built on the same scientific methodology as KCC’s industry-leading catastrophe reference models, the HV models enable (re)insurers to conduct more frequent, large-scale analyses with reduced demands on computational resources.

“These models are tailor-made for the reinsurer’s workflow, enabling tremendous throughput while preserving the accuracy of the KCC models,” said Marshall Pagano, KCC Senior Director, Client Services. “HV models are powerful tools for (re)insurers conducting sensitivity analyses that need to iterate rapidly on assumptions or adjustments.”

Fully integrated into the RiskInsight® open loss modeling platform, HV models support the same comprehensive policy structures and reinsurance terms as the full reference models.

“HV models provide reinsurers with an efficient pathway to portfolio-level views without sacrificing the consistency and scientific rigor of the KCC reference models,” said Karen Clark, KCC CEO. “This innovation reflects KCC’s commitment to delivering advanced solutions tailored to a wide range of operational priorities.”

KCC Releases Severe Convective Storm Model Version 4.0

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Karen Clark & Company (KCC) is pleased to announce the release of the US Severe Convective Storm (SCS) Model Version 4.0. The new model expands on the advanced physical modeling techniques KCC has introduced for this most important emerging peril. SCS losses dominate annual weather-related insured property losses in the US. The older catastrophe modeling technology still used by many reinsurers and ILS investors does not provide credible loss estimates for severe co...
