The Standard Names Nicola Barrett Second Vice President and Actuary, Actuarial Governance and Enterprise Risk Management

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) announced today that Nicola Barrett has been named second vice president and actuary, Actuarial Governance and Enterprise Risk Management.

In this role, Barrett will have responsibility for actuarial governance and enterprise risk management including the implementation of effective and agile actuarial and risk governance at all levels of the organization.

Prior to joining The Standard, Barrett led forecast model development for the financial planning and pricing strategy department at MassMutual. Barrett’s previous roles include positions at Milliman, Ernst & Young, MetLife and Prudential.

Barrett earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in decision sciences and a Master of Actuarial Science degree from Georgia State University. She is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and President-elect of the Caribbean Actuarial Association.
