Zelis Acquires Assets of Medxoom to Deliver a Mobile-First Member Experience Platform

Enhanced offering will give health plans and TPAs a data-driven, mobile-first platform that empowers healthcare consumers with greater price transparency

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zelis, a leading provider of healthcare technology solutions, has acquired the assets of Medxoom, a mobile-first member experience platform, from Allied Benefit Systems, LLC, the largest independent third-party administrator (TPA) in the United States. Zelis plans to enhance the vendor-agnostic platform and reintroduce it as a solution for health plans and TPAs, offering a differentiated platform that empowers members to find and access quality care.

With the acquisition of Medxoom, we look forward to introducing a differentiated mobile-first solution that offers health plans and TPAs a way to leverage their data and makes price transparency real and actionable.

With the option to deliver a mobile-first solution that leverages existing price transparency data, health plans and TPAs can deliver more effective member experiences that comply with evolving healthcare regulations. Zelis will combine its extensive data ecosystem—including provider demographic, cost, quality data, and provider search capabilities—with Medxoom’s platform, helping meet the dynamic needs of healthcare consumers and providing transparency to the total cost of care.

“Health plans face greater pressure to comply with price transparency regulations, making it increasingly important to provide members with more precise pricing information and mobile-first solutions that empower them on their care journey,” said Heather Cox, President, Insights & Empowerment at Zelis. “With the acquisition of Medxoom, we look forward to introducing a differentiated mobile-first solution that offers health plans and TPAs a way to leverage their data and makes price transparency real and actionable.”

Members will benefit from an intuitive mobile interface that enables them to find a provider that meets their unique needs, have access to digital ID cards, view claim history, coverage and plan documents, and utilize communications tools to interact with their health plan or TPA. It will result in organized care needs, simplified payments, and savings for members and payers alike.

Allied will retain its own dedicated version of the software to power its proprietary Allied Digital offering, reflecting the organization’s continued strategic investment in healthcare management technology.
