Stacklet Rolls Out AI Agent for Cloud Usage Optimization and Governance to Deliver Fastest Mean-Time-to-Savings (MTTS)

With advanced new capabilities—including agentic AI through Stacklet Jun0—the platform helps FinOps and engineering teams move 6x faster from cost insights to verified savings.

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stacklet, creators and lead maintainers of CNCF’s Cloud Custodian project, today announced the next evolution of its platform with industry-first, AI-driven capabilities. These advancements help accelerate cloud savings by reducing Mean Time to Savings (MTTS) and enabling preventative policies to be deployed 6x faster. At the center is Jun0, Stacklet’s AI assistant, now delivering an agentic experience that quickly takes teams from insights to action. These advancements are supported by Stacklet’s new Cloud Action Center, also announced today, which empowers resource owners to take timely action, reduce waste, and drive accountability.

According to the FinOps Foundation’s State of FinOps report, waste reduction has been the top priority for FinOps teams for two years running—underscoring the persistent challenge of driving action across engineering teams. In its 2025 edition, the report identifies policy and governance at scale as the next top priority, reflecting a key realization: without scalable governance, savings don’t stick.

In the cloud, every second counts—but traditional tools remain reactive and focused on surface-level reporting rather than real outcomes. Stacklet takes a fundamentally different approach: prioritizing action and prevention through developer-friendly remediation workflows and guardrails that eliminate waste and stop it from coming back.

Boosting Developer Engagement While Accelerating Mean Time to Savings (MTTS)

To help teams accelerate outcomes, Stacklet is introducing new capabilities that boost developer engagement, reduce MTTS, and enable continuous, policy-driven optimization at scale.

"Stacklet has helped us save millions of dollars by driving action across multiple engineering teams and reducing our Mean Time to Savings," said Lindbergh Matillano, Director Cloud Optimization, Avalara. "Its developer-friendly approach to FinOps governance as code has already made it a hit with our engineering teams. The new agentic experience in Jun0 builds on that foundation—making it even easier to surface and act on optimization opportunities, reduce time to action to one-sixth of what it was, and deliver measurable results through features like Cloud Action Center and Campaigns."

New capabilities include:

  • AI Agent for FinOps & Engineering: Stacklet Jun0 now lets users dry-run policies, query cost data, and take action using natural language—empowering teams with self-service visibility and reducing MTTS.
  • Cloud Action Center: A centralized console that guides resource owners to act on savings opportunities—integrated with Slack, Jira, and more.
  • Usage Optimization Campaigns: Coordinate time-bound optimization efforts across IaC and runtime to align teams and drive measurable outcomes.
  • MTTS Tracker: Measure how long it takes to turn insights into savings—uncover bottlenecks and improve execution over time.

"Stacklet's governance as code foundation—combining declarative policies with SQL-based visibility through AssetDB—gives us a powerful, code-driven model for both enforcement and insight," said Van Wolfe, VP of Cloud Platform Engineering, REPAY. "The new agentic capabilities build on that foundation, acting like an always-on expert teammate that automates governance, empowers more teams to take action, and helps us realize savings and compliance improvements faster."

“We built Stacklet to go beyond visibility—to help teams take action and lower their Mean Time to Savings,” said Travis Stanfield, co-founder and CEO, Stacklet. “With these new capabilities, including agentic AI, users—whether in FinOps or engineering—can drive policy and cost changes, accelerate outcomes, and scale governance like never before.”
