Alaska Communications Welcomes Yasir Alvi as CFO

Experienced financial executive joins leading broadband service provider

ANCHORAGE, Alaska--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Experienced financial leader Yasir Alvi will join Alaska Communications as chief financial officer beginning June 2, 2025.

Yasir started his career in software engineering at Microsoft Corporation, leading teams building commercial software for customers worldwide. This was followed by 15 years of progressive leadership roles in finance, including investment banking and M&A at Morgan Stanley, and FP&A at Alaska Airlines. Prior to joining Alaska Communications, Yasir served as CFO of Guardian Security Systems, where he led finance and operations teams through a period of transformative growth. His experience spans multiple sectors, including security, transportation, logistics and technology.

He graduated with honors from Princeton University with a B.A. in Computer Science and earned an MBA from the Wharton School with honors, concentrating in Finance.

Yasir and his wife have a daughter and son. As a family, they love exploring the outdoors and enjoy watching and playing a variety of sports, including soccer and jiu-jitsu.
