AM Best to Host Briefing Exploring Dynamic Developments in the Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprise Segment

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A panel of senior AM Best analysts and industry experts will explore the dynamic developments within the Delegated Underwriting Authority Enterprises (DUAE) segment during a special briefing on June 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. ET.

The Best’s Briefing, “DUAEs: Specialization and Technological Expertise Portend Success in the Evolving Competitive Landscape,” will explore key 2024 performance trends, and evolving market structures, as well as offer a comprehensive view into the future of the DUAE market, which has become an important part of the insurance value chain. The panel includes Matthew LuBien, president, K2 Insurance Services, as well as Yizhou Hong, senior financial analyst, and Jacqalene Lentz, senior director, Commercial & Specialty, both of AM Best. AM Best Senior Associate Editor John Weber will moderate the panel discussion. The briefing will touch on the findings of forthcoming annual Best’s Market Segment Report on the state of the DUAE market.

Discussion topics also will include a look at technology-driven models and how they respond to pressures in commissions, carrier relationships and capital requirements; a discussion on recent M&A activity and valuation trends that are shaping the landscape; what’s moving the needle for innovation and underwriting excellence with digital MGAs and startups; and AM Best’s outlook on the segment.

AM Best uses DUAE as a blanket term to capture MGAs, managing general underwriters, coverholders, program administrators, program underwriters, underwriting agencies, direct authorizations and appointed representatives.
