Metronet Launches Fiber Infrastructure Project in Woodridge

Nation’s Fastest Major ISP Expands High-Speed Network to More Illinois Suburbs

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, recognized as the fastest major internet service provider by PCMag, is bringing its 100% fiber-optic internet service to Woodridge, Ill. Through a privately funded multimillion-dollar investment, Metronet will enable the community with ultra-fast, reliable internet by delivering symmetrical multigigabit speeds of up to five gigabits per second for homes and up to ten gigabits per second for businesses.

“Metronet’s installation of a fiber-optic network in Woodridge will provide residents and businesses with another option for high-speed internet and reliable phone services,” said Village Administrator Al Stonitsch. “Expanding access and increasing choice supports our community’s ongoing efforts to stay connected and plan for the future.”

Construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with the first customers anticipated to receive service by late summer. Residents and businesses interested in updates and pre-sale opportunities can visit metronet.com/il/woodridge to sign-up.

“We’re excited to bring Woodridge into our expanding network of fiber-powered communities across Illinois,” said Ben Ruzick, vice president of new market development at Metronet. “This investment brings the kind of fast, future-ready connectivity that fuels innovation, supports small businesses, and enhances quality of life.”

Metronet’s fiber-optic network offers symmetrical upload and download speeds, enabling seamless streaming, gaming, video conferencing, and remote work. The expansion supports Woodridge’s growing demand for high-performance connectivity in homes, workplaces, and everywhere in between.

As construction gets underway, residents will begin to see Metronet crews in their neighborhoods. The company will provide advance notice at least 30 days before work begins through mailed letters, yard signs, and other communications. Metronet teams will be clearly identified with company-branded vehicles and ID badges.
