Military Family Housing Renovations Underway at Army’s Fort Novosel

Improvements at home of Army Aviation part of long-term effort to boost modernization and readiness

FORT NOVOSEL, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Renovations to nearly 300 homes at Fort Novosel began April 24 as part of a $24 million investment by Corvias and the U.S. Army to support installation readiness goals at the Home of Army Aviation, the branch’s central location for training Army aviators, including helicopter pilots.

Corvias, a trusted infrastructure and resiliency partner to the U.S. military and higher education institutions, is driving new modernization and development work for junior noncommissioned and company grade officer housing.

The improvements include redesigned kitchens that enhance functionality and flow, modernized bathrooms, and upgraded flooring and lighting — all tailored to support the day-to-day needs of military families.

Jeff Williams, Corvias Senior Vice President for Asset Management, emphasized the upgrades are meant to improve quality of life, helping soldiers remain mission ready. “The improvements will help increase resident satisfaction and comfort while supporting the stability, security, and focus that living on-post brings to servicemembers and their families.”

This initiative at Fort Novosel is part of Corvias’ broader, long-term strategy to support the Department of Defense through innovative, future-ready solutions. By aligning closely with Army priorities, Corvias is helping ensure that military housing not only meets current demands but also continues to evolve to support long-term readiness and resilience.

“Corvias and the Army have a long-standing, nearly 30-year partnership through the DOD’s Military Housing Privatization Initiative program,” said Denise Hauck, Corvias DOD President. “MHPI is widely regarded as one of the most cost-efficient uses of federal dollars. This year alone, Corvias and the Army will invest more than $410 million across multiple installations supporting readiness and resiliency initiatives. Our Installation communities also benefit from the work through our engagement with numerous subcontractors and suppliers – helping stimulate the local economies as the projects progress.”
