FMG Leading Advocates for People-Centric Tech Implementation Strategies in New Healthcare Insights Report

Healthcare advisory team warns that investments in AI and other technologies will not deliver expected outcomes or returns without a human capital focus.

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FMG Leading—a human capital advisory firm that partners with healthcare leaders and investors on a mission to make the healthcare system work, better—has released their Spring 2025 Healthcare Insights Report, making the case for healthcare leaders to center people in their technology implementations. Titled, “Leading Healthcare in the AI Era: People Strategies to Ensure Tech Investments Deliver,” the report advocates for human capital-oriented approaches to ensure organizations throughout the healthcare ecosystem fully utilize today’s innovations to maximize clinical, operational, and financial results, and avoid falling behind in coming waves of disruption.

The report includes industry challenges reported by surveyed FMG Leading healthcare clients as well as healthcare AI use cases, actionable strategies for bridging people and technologies amidst implementations, and best human capital practices for healthcare entities. It is currently free for download here.

The release of the report comes at a time when healthcare organizations are making increasing investments in novel technologies while often overlooking how their people are or will be interacting with these tools. For example, an American Medical Association survey published in February 2025 found that 66% of physicians reported using AI in 2024, up from 38% in 2023, but 25% of respondents were more concerned than excited about the tools. What’s more, a March 2025 study by generative AI platform Writer found that 31% of employees—including 41% of Gen Z workers—admit to “sabotaging” their company’s AI strategy by refusing to adopt AI. As a result, roughly two-thirds of executives say generative AI adoption has led to tension and division within their organization, with 42% suggesting it’s “tearing their company apart.”

“While AI-enabled and other groundbreaking technologies are expected to help solve numerous, longstanding healthcare challenges, they won’t serve as automated springboards to value creation,” said Dr. Matt Brubaker, Chairman and CEO of FMG Leading. “Leaders need to examine the interplay between these technologies and their people, processes, and structures, bringing real wisdom and experience to the table in order to realize their full benefits and remain competitive in the years to come.”
