Hicks Thomas Partner John B. Thomas Named to Lawdragon List of 100 Managing Partners You Need to Know

Honorees described as the most admired figures in law firm leadership

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hicks Thomas LLP is pleased to announce that partner John B. Thomas has been named to the 2025 Lawdragon 100 Managing Partners You Need to Know guide, a list of lawyers that Lawdragon describes as the most admired figures in law firm leadership.

“This year’s honorees were all selected for their roles founding, growing, leading and innovating on behalf of a legal enterprise seeking change, profit, to be a home, a voice,” wrote Lawdragon publisher Katrina Dewey.

This is Mr. Thomas’ most recent Lawdragon honor. He has also been named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America, its 500 Leading Litigators in America and the 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers lists. His honors also include recognition from Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers and Benchmark Litigation. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Mr. Thomas and his Hicks Thomas colleagues have developed one of Houston’s premier trial firms, representing a wide range of clients in various industries since 1997. In 2024, the firm added 15 lawyers from Hunton Andrews Kurth, including several former colleagues, bringing the firm to nearly 50 lawyers.

“I am humbled by this recognition, but our success is attributable to the entire team,” said Mr. Thomas. “We have been focused on establishing a strong foundation for the future of this firm and I am really proud of the relationships we have with our clients and the effort our people have invested in making this a great place to practice law.”

Honorees are selected through nominations and Lawdragon’s extensive research and vetting process. Read the full list here.
