ASCE Partners with Esri to Help Governments Make Smarter Targeted Infrastructure Improvements

US Civil Engineering Society Uses ArcGIS StoryMaps to Drive Better Informed Decision Making

REDLANDS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has released its 2025 Report Card for America's Infrastructure. New this year, ASCE has partnered with Esri, the global leader in geographic information system (GIS) technology, to present the findings using ArcGIS StoryMaps. This digital tool combines maps, 3D scenes, and multimedia content to more effectively communicate the condition and resilience of the nation’s infrastructure.

“By showing people how all these infrastructure systems are playing a role in their daily life, ArcGIS StoryMaps helps us make the case about why we need to invest in our infrastructure,” said Caroline Sevier, Managing Director of Government Relations and Infrastructure Initiatives at the ASCE. “Showing an overall system of systems approach to infrastructure and how it’s all interconnected allows us to visualize these issues and look at infrastructure at multiple scales.”

Published every four years, the Report Card for America's Infrastructure serves as a comprehensive evaluation of US infrastructure, using the familiar A through F school grading scale to communicate how well each sector operates for the public. Beyond the grades, the report provides key information on opportunities, challenges, and performance.
