Tom Puthiyamadam joins Grant Thornton to lead Advisory Services practice

Leader in transformation consulting brings with him a passion for nurturing digital-first businesses and tapping into cutting-edge technologies

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Thornton, one of America’s largest brands of professionals providing end-to-end audit, assurance, tax and advisory services, today announced that Tom Puthiyamadam has joined the firm as the national managing principal for Advisory Services.

In his role, Puthiyamadam is responsible for effectively executing the firm’s strategy within its Advisory service line and has direct oversight and responsibility for the service line's innovation, growth agenda, operations, financial performance, and quality. He is also a member of the Executive Committee at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC.

With nearly 28 years of experience in professional services, Puthiyamadam is a leader in transformational advisory services, possessing a passion for nurturing digital-first businesses and tapping into cutting-edge technologies to achieve unprecedented outcomes. He will be instrumental in driving growth for clients, the firm and its people.

Puthiyamadam joins Grant Thornton as it accelerates its momentum through a recent growth investment led by New Mountain Capital — and by forming a multinational platform with Grant Thornton Ireland.

“Grant Thornton is establishing itself as the platform of choice for clients and professionals alike — one driven by a singular commitment to quality, culture and differentiated capabilities,” said Jim Peko, CEO of Grant Thornton Advisors LLC. “Tom’s experience, knowledge of the market, and forward-thinking vision make him the ideal leader to steer our Advisory Services practice in this time of transformation for our firm and our clients.”

Based in New York, Puthiyamadam previously held several leadership roles at PwC, most recently serving as the Transformation Consulting practice leader — specializing in digital-powered change. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Binghamton University.

“Grant Thornton is a team of dynamic individuals with a well-established and successful Advisory Services practice,” said Puthiyamadam. “I look forward to building on that foundation by working to set a bold new ambition for the team. We’ll adopt a tech-centric mindset, pursue innovation and growth, and deliver high-quality outcomes for clients across a range of industries and transatlantic markets, while also benefitting our firm and our people.”
